How can we help?

Answers for the people who use AZDAN: registering through EmaraTax, your account and multi-factor authentication, invoices and credit notes, customers, your company profile, users, plans, and what to check when something goes wrong.

EmaraTax linkage

Linking your company to AZDAN in EmaraTax, re-verifying the linkage and ending it.

What does linking my company to AZDAN in EmaraTax do?

In EmaraTax, a taxpayer names the Accredited Service Provider that sends and receives its e-invoices. When you choose AZDAN there, EmaraTax sends you to this linking request. We verify your company with the Federal Tax Authority, register its Peppol address (0235: followed by your TIN) and create your AZDAN account.

Until the FTA confirms the registration, the address stays on hold: nothing is sent or received for it. The E-Invoicing page in the console shows the current state.

Which e-mail address and mobile number do I enter?

The e-mail address must be the administrator address registered with the FTA in EmaraTax; the FTA compares it with its records and the request fails if it differs. It also becomes the e-mail of your first AZDAN administrator account.

The mobile number is optional. Enter it in international format (for example +971551234567) or choose the country code and type the national number; spaces, brackets and dashes are ignored. It has 7 to 15 digits.

What is the difference between the TIN and the TRN?

The TIN (Tax Identifier Number) is the 10-digit identifier the FTA assigned to your company. It starts with 1 and is the identifier inside your Peppol address: 0235:1000000001.

The TRN (Tax Registration Number) is your 15-digit VAT registration number. It starts with 1 and ends with 03, for example 100123456700003, and goes on every invoice as the seller's or buyer's tax number.

The linking request asks for the TIN. The company profile and every invoice use the TRN.

I created a free account. How do I connect my company with EmaraTax?

After signing in (and setting up multi-factor authentication) the console opens Connect with EmaraTax. Select Connect: AZDAN remembers that your account started the connection and takes you to the official EmaraTax portal, where you select AZDAN as your Accredited Service Provider. EmaraTax then sends you back to AZDAN with your company's verified details.

On the confirmation step you tick two boxes: that the FTA's details are correct, and that the company joins the AZDAN account you are signed in to. AZDAN registers your Peppol address and the FTA confirms the linkage; your password, users, settings and plan stay as they are, and you receive a "company linked to your account" email.

  • The connection is bound to your browser and expires after four hours; if it lapses, start again from Connect with EmaraTax.
  • If you are sent to sign in when you come back from EmaraTax, sign in to the account you started from. Signing in to a different account does not link the company anywhere.
  • A company that is already linked to another AZDAN account is never moved automatically; AZDAN reviews it.

What happens after I submit the linking request?

Your details are saved and verified with EmaraTax. You then confirm the Peppol address that was derived from your TIN; the confirmation box must be ticked.

  • If the FTA verifies the company, its Peppol address is registered and you receive an activation e-mail for your AZDAN account.
  • If the details cannot be verified, check the e-mail address and TIN, return to EmaraTax and start a new linking request.
  • Your Peppol address stays on hold until the FTA confirms the registration in its registry.

The page says the request expired or was already used. What now?

A linking request stays open for 10 minutes after EmaraTax hands you over to AZDAN, and allows 3 verification attempts. After that, or once it has been completed, it cannot be reused.

Return to EmaraTax and start a new linking request; the new one replaces the old.

How do I re-verify the linkage, or end it (offboard)?

Both start in EmaraTax, under the linkage status with your service provider: choose Re-verify or Offboard and EmaraTax sends you to AZDAN. There you sign in with the registered administrator e-mail (and optionally the mobile number), choose the action, give a reason of up to 500 characters and tick the confirmation.

Re-verifying refreshes your company's details with the FTA; your Peppol address keeps working. Offboarding takes your company off the Peppol network through AZDAN and asks the FTA to remove the linkage; it is a critical action and is confirmed with the code from your authenticator app. While it is in progress no other linkage action can start.

Who can manage the linkage?

Only an account administrator (the Admin role) can re-verify or end the linkage. A Finance, Developer or Viewer user sees the E-Invoicing status page but cannot change it.

Form fields in this section (9)

Registered EmaraTax e-mail address Required

The e-mail address of the administrator registered with the Federal Tax Authority in EmaraTax. The FTA checks it against its records; AZDAN then uses it for the account and for notifications.

A valid e-mail address, up to 254 characters. It is compared case-insensitively, so capital letters do not matter.

Example [email protected]

TIN (Tax Identifier Number) Required

The 10-digit tax identifier the FTA issued to your company. It becomes the company's Peppol address (0235: followed by the TIN).

Exactly 10 digits, starting with 1. This is not the 15-digit VAT TRN, which starts with 1 and ends with 03.

Example 1000000001

Registered mobile number Optional

The mobile number registered with EmaraTax, if you want it on the request. Choose the country code, then enter the national number.

Optional. 7 to 15 digits; spaces, brackets and dashes are ignored. A number with a leading + is stored in international format.

Example +971551234567

Country (calling code) Optional

The country of the mobile number. It sets the calling code that is added in front of the national number.

Optional. A two-letter country code; the United Arab Emirates (+971) is the default.

Example AE

Confirmation Required

Confirms that you are authorised to link this company to AZDAN as its e-invoicing service provider, and that the details shown are correct.

Must be ticked before the request can be sent.

Reason Required

Why you are re-verifying the linkage or ending it. The FTA requires a reason; it is recorded with the request and in the audit log.

Required, 1 to 500 characters. A short sentence is enough.

Authenticator code Required

Ending the linkage is a critical action, so it is confirmed with the current code from your authenticator app, or one of your recovery codes.

The 6-digit code shown now, or a recovery code. After 5 wrong codes the action is locked for 10 minutes.

Example 123456

Connect with EmaraTax Required

Starts the official EmaraTax authorisation from your signed-in account. AZDAN remembers that this account started the connection, then takes you to the EmaraTax portal, where you select AZDAN as your Accredited Service Provider. EmaraTax sends you back with your company's verified details.

Only an administrator can connect a company. The connection is bound to this browser and expires after four hours; start again from this screen if it lapses.

Target account confirmation Required

Your explicit confirmation that the company EmaraTax verified joins the AZDAN account you are signed in to. A company is linked to an account only with this confirmation; AZDAN never links one by matching an email address.

Required when signed in. If this is the wrong account, sign out and sign in to the right one; the linking request stays open until it expires.

Your account

Activating your account, signing in, your profile, your password and multi-factor authentication.

How do I create a free account?

Choose Create free account on the sign-in page or on the AZDAN website. Enter your name, work e-mail, a password that meets the rules, your company or account name and (optionally) a phone number, then accept the E-Invoicing Service Agreement. AZDAN e-mails you a verification link; it works once and expires in 24 hours. After verifying, sign in: multi-factor authentication is set up first, then you connect your company with EmaraTax.

The account starts on the Free plan of the AZDAN price list: up to 120 documents a subscription year at no charge, renewing every year. Documents only flow once your company is linked through EmaraTax.

If the e-mail address already has an AZDAN account, no second account is created: the e-mail tells you to sign in instead. Register from one e-mail address per company administrator; extra companies join the same account through EmaraTax.

How do I activate my account?

Your administrator (or the EmaraTax linking) creates the account and AZDAN e-mails you an activation link. Open it, choose a password that meets the rules and sign in with your work e-mail.

The link is valid for 72 hours and works once. If it has expired or was used, ask your administrator to resend it; sending a new link cancels every older one.

What are the password rules?

  • 12 to 200 characters.
  • Letters and at least one number.
  • It must not contain the part of your e-mail address before the @ (when that part is 4 characters or longer).
  • When changing it, the new password must differ from the current one.

There is no rule about capital letters or symbols, but a long phrase with numbers is stronger than a short word.

How do I set up multi-factor authentication (MFA), and why is it required?

MFA is mandatory on every AZDAN account: until it is set up, the console only lets you reach the set-up page. Open Security, add AZDAN to an authenticator app (Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy) by scanning the QR code or typing the key, then enter the 6-digit code the app shows. The code changes every 30 seconds.

At every sign-in you then enter your password and the current code, or a recovery code. The sign-in step stays open for 5 minutes.

If you switch MFA off you will have to set it up again before you can continue, for example with a new phone.

What are recovery codes and when do I use them?

When you enable MFA, AZDAN shows 8 recovery codes once, in the form xxxxx-xxxxx. Store them somewhere safe. If you lose your phone, a recovery code replaces the authenticator code at sign-in and in any confirmation.

Each code works once; capital letters and hyphens do not matter. Setting MFA up again gives you a new set.

Why does an action ask for my authenticator code again?

Critical actions are confirmed with the current code from your authenticator app (or a recovery code) even though you are signed in: changing your password, changing a user's role, company access or status, resetting a user's password, revoking an API key, changing or deleting a webhook's authentication or secret, disconnecting NetSuite and ending the EmaraTax linkage.

Each code works once. After 5 wrong codes within 10 minutes the action is locked for a few minutes.

How do I change my password?

Open My Profile from the account menu. Enter your current password, the new one twice and the code from your authenticator app. After the change your other sessions are signed out; this one stays signed in.

After 5 wrong current passwords within 15 minutes, changing the password is locked for a while.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Ask your account administrator to reset it from the Users page. You receive a new temporary password, shown to the administrator once, and set your own on first sign-in. If you are the only administrator, contact AZDAN at [email protected].

Why can I not sign in?

  • A wrong e-mail or password: the message is the same for both, to protect the account.
  • Your account is still waiting for activation: open the activation link, or ask your administrator to resend it.
  • Your account was disabled by an administrator.
  • The company's AZDAN account is suspended: the console says so after sign-in.
  • Too many attempts: wait a few minutes and try again.

Is AZDAN accredited by the Ministry of Finance, and certified for information security and business continuity?

The accreditation allows AZDAN to onboard end users, exchange electronic invoices and report tax data to the Federal Tax Authority, and AZDAN is listed on the Ministry's website and on the EmaraTax portal.

AZDAN BUSINESS ANALYTICS FZCO also holds two certificates of registration issued by URS (United Registrar of Systems), a certification body accredited by UKAS (Management Systems 0043):

  • ISO/IEC 27001:2022, Information Security Management System, certificate 145141/A/0001/UK/En.
  • ISO 22301:2019, Business Continuity Management System, certificate 145141/B/0001/UK/En.

Both were issued on 2 February 2026 and are valid until 1 February 2029. They cover the design, development, hosting, operation and support of our digital compliance and business systems, including the secure processing, storage, transmission and integration of sensitive business and personal data. The certificates confirm how AZDAN manages information security and business continuity; they are not a certification of any product or service.

The full scope, the certificate facts and the marks are on the Accreditation & certifications page of the AZDAN website (the link in the footer), and the accreditation can be checked on the Ministry of Finance's published list of accredited service providers. To verify a certificate, write to [email protected] quoting its number.

Invoices and credit notes

Writing an invoice or credit note by hand, and the UAE rules it is checked against before it is sent.

Which company can I send from?

Only a Peppol participant registered for your account and active on the network. The sender's registered name, TRN and address come from its company profile; if the profile is incomplete, the invoice page lists what is missing and an administrator completes it under Company.

A Finance user limited to certain companies sees only those as senders.

Tax invoice or commercial invoice?

A tax invoice is the normal VAT document (type codes 380 for an invoice, 381 for a credit note). It needs the seller's TRN, and at least one line that is standard-rated, zero-rated, reverse charge or margin scheme.

A commercial invoice (480 / 81) is for supplies outside the scope of VAT. Its lines may only be exempt, out of scope or zero-rated; it cannot be a deemed supply, a margin-scheme sale or a summary invoice; and it identifies the seller by TIN and the buyer by a registration document.

What does a credit note need?

A credit note reverses or corrects an invoice you sent earlier. It needs:

  • A reason from the UAE list: a cancelled supply, a change in the consideration, a return of goods, a correction of VAT, an error in the invoice, or a volume discount.
  • The original invoice number, for every reason except a volume discount, where it must be left empty.
  • Its own number, issue date and currency, like an invoice.

A credit note does not need a payment due date.

When is the payment due date required?

On every invoice with an amount to pay. The only exception is a deemed supply, where nothing is payable. A credit note never needs one.

Can I invoice in a currency other than AED?

Yes. Choose the currency (a 3-letter code such as USD or EUR) and give the exchange rate to AED on the issue date: 1 unit of the invoice currency = this many dirhams, with up to 6 decimals. AZDAN then shows the VAT amount and the total in AED as the UAE rules require. All amounts on the document are in the invoice currency.

Which VAT treatment and rate do I choose?

  • Standard rate: VAT at exactly 5%.
  • Zero rate: taxable at 0% (exports, some international services); the rate is 0.
  • Exempt: no VAT and an exemption reason code from the UAE list; no rate.
  • Out of scope: not a VAT supply; no rate.
  • Reverse charge: the customer accounts for the VAT; the rate is 0, and the line also needs the type of goods or services, the item barcode and the customer's TRN.
  • Margin scheme: VAT on the margin; the rate is more than 0, and every line of the document must use it.

A tax invoice needs at least one line that is not exempt or out of scope. A commercial invoice may only use exempt, out of scope or zero rate.

What does a reverse-charge line need?

A reverse-charge line (the customer accounts for the VAT) needs the type of goods or services from the UAE list, the item barcode (GTIN) and the customer's TRN. Its VAT rate is 0. Without these the document is refused.

Which unit do I enter?

Every line needs a unit as a UN/ECE Recommendation 20 code; a line without one is refused. Common codes: EA (each), HUR (hour), DAY (day), KGM (kilogram), MTR (metre), LTR (litre), MON (month), C62 (unit). An item's unit is copied onto each line that uses it.

Why must I choose an emirate instead of typing a city?

The UAE rules require the emirate of every UAE address as an official code, not as a city name: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah. The street, city and country are also required on every seller and buyer address, so it is worth completing the company profile and each customer once.

What do I enter under Payment?

An invoice states how it is paid, unless it is a deemed supply. Choose the payment method; a bank transfer also needs the account to be paid, usually your IBAN (a UAE IBAN has 23 characters and starts with AE). Payment terms are free text, up to 500 characters.

Set your usual method, account and terms once under Company; new invoices start with them.

How do allowances and charges work?

An allowance is a discount and a charge an extra cost; each can apply to one line or to the whole document. Each needs an amount of 0 or more and a reason, as words or as a code from the UN lists. If you calculate it from a percentage, give the base amount and the percentage together; the amount must equal base × percentage ÷ 100.

AZDAN recomputes every total from the lines, allowances and charges. A total that differs from the calculation by more than 0.02 is refused, so correct the figure or leave it to be computed.

When do I tick a type of supply?

Leave every box unticked for an ordinary domestic supply. Tick only what applies: free-trade zone (the beneficiary's own identifier and the delivery date are then required), deemed supply (no payment due date or method), margin scheme (every line under the margin scheme), summary invoice, continuous supply (a billing period), disclosed agent billing (the principal's identifier), e-commerce (a delivery date and address) or export.

Deemed supply, margin scheme and summary invoice apply to tax invoices only.

The invoice was refused because an amount does not match. Why?

AZDAN recalculates every line total, the net, the VAT and the total payable from the quantities, prices, rates, allowances and charges, in the invoice currency and to 2 decimals. If a figure you entered differs from the calculation by more than 0.02, the document is refused and the message names the expected and the received value. Correct the quantity, price or rate that causes the difference, or clear the total and let it be computed.

A Peppol ID is the address a document is delivered to on the Peppol network, written as scheme:identifier. For a UAE company the scheme is 0235 and the identifier is its 10-digit TIN, for example 0235:1000000001; other countries use other schemes from the Peppol list.

Ask your customer for it, or look it up in their EmaraTax e-invoicing details. Each Peppol ID can belong to one customer in your account. A customer without a Peppol ID can be saved but cannot be sent a document.

Which customers need a TRN, and in what format?

Every invoice to a UAE customer must carry the customer's 15-digit VAT TRN (it starts with 1 and ends with 03), unless you mark the customer as not VAT-registered. It is not the 10-digit TIN inside the Peppol ID. For a customer outside the UAE the tax number is optional.

Save it once on the customer record and it is filled in on every invoice.

Which customer fields are needed to send an invoice?

To save a customer only the name is required. To send a document to them the invoice needs their Peppol ID, their legal name, a full address (street, city, country and, in the UAE, the emirate) and, for a UAE customer, their TRN. An out-of-scope invoice or a credit note related to goods also needs a registration document and number. The customer form marks each of these so they are filled in once.

What is the item code for?

The code (or SKU) is your own reference for the product or service, for example the code in your accounting system. It is optional and up to 80 characters; no two items in your account can share one.

Why does an item need a description?

Every line of a UAE invoice must describe the goods or service, so an item carries the description (up to 1000 characters) and the line takes it over when you pick the item. You can still edit it on the invoice.

A percentage, for example 5. Standard rate is always 5; zero rate and reverse charge are 0.

Example 5

Company profile and settings

Your company's invoicing profile, logo and e-mail notifications.

What must the company profile contain before I can send invoices?

The seller details that go on every invoice: the registered legal name, the TRN, the country and, for a UAE address, the emirate. Once your Peppol address uses the UAE scheme 0235, the legal registration (document type and number, plus the issuing authority for a trade licence or passport) is required too. A bank-transfer payment method needs the account to be paid.

The Company page lists what is still missing, and so does the invoice page when you try to send.

What format does the company TRN have?

A UAE VAT TRN has 15 digits, starts with 1 and ends with 03, for example 100123456700003. It is not the 10-digit TIN that forms your Peppol address. An invoice with a TRN of another shape is refused.

Who receives e-mail notifications?

Your administrators, when you switch notifications on, plus any other recipients you add on the E-mail notifications page. Each recipient is a valid e-mail address, listed once; the number of extra recipients depends on your plan. You choose which kinds of events are sent.

Who can edit the company profile?

Only an account administrator (the Admin role). Other roles see the profile read-only.

Users, roles and permissions

Inviting colleagues, what each role may do, and access per company.

What can each role do?

  • Admin: everything, including users, the company profile, e-mail notifications, the EmaraTax linkage, Peppol participants and the audit log.
  • Finance: send and validate invoices, manage customers and items, schedule reports.
  • Developer: API keys, webhooks, integrations and the Test API; validate invoices.
  • Viewer: read-only access to everything the role can see.

Every role can download files. Actions no role is named for are reserved to Admin.

How do I add a colleague?

On the Users page, enter their work e-mail (up to 200 characters, not used by another AZDAN account), optionally a display name, and choose a role. AZDAN creates the account and shows a temporary password once; pass it on securely. The colleague signs in with it, sets their own password and sets up multi-factor authentication.

The number of users is limited by your plan.

What does the company (subsidiary) access do?

A Finance, Developer or Viewer user can be limited to some of your companies: they then see and act on documents, participants and settings of those companies only. Leave every box unticked to give access to all. An Admin always has every company.

Can I change a user's role or disable a user?

Yes, from the Users page, as an Admin. Changing a role or company access, disabling or enabling a user and resetting a password are critical actions confirmed with the code from your authenticator app. You cannot change your own role or status, or reset your own password here (use My Profile).

What happens when a user is disabled?

They can no longer sign in, and their sessions end. Their name stays on the documents and audit entries they created. An administrator can enable them again at any time.

Form fields in this section (4)

E-mail Required

The colleague's work e-mail. It becomes their username; the activation link is sent to it, and it cannot be used by another AZDAN account.

Required. A valid e-mail address, up to 200 characters; capital letters do not matter.

Example [email protected]

Display name Optional

The colleague's name as shown in the console and the audit log.

Optional, up to 120 characters. Their e-mail is shown until they set a name.

Example Omar Haddad

Role Required

What the colleague may do. Admin: everything, including users and company details. Finance: invoices, customers, items and reports. Developer: API keys, webhooks, integrations and the Test API. Viewer: read only.

Required. You cannot change your own role; changing someone's role is confirmed with your authenticator code.

Companies Optional

Limits a Finance, Developer or Viewer user to some of your companies (subsidiaries). An Admin always sees all of them.

Optional. Leave every box unticked to give access to every company.

Plans and limits

What your AZDAN plan includes, where you see what you have used, and what happens at a limit.

How do I upgrade, add EmaraTax accounts or get more documents?

Open Plan & usage and choose Request a change (also from the Current Plan panel and the EmaraTax connections card). Pick what you need — an upgrade, a plan change, additional EmaraTax accounts or a larger document package — from the price list, add a comment and send it. AZDAN reviews the request, approves and applies it or rejects it with a reason; you are emailed at each step and the request's status and history stay on the page. Nothing changes and nothing is charged until AZDAN applies it.

How many companies can I connect through EmaraTax?

As many as your subscription has EmaraTax accounts: the Free plan allows one company, a paid subscription one per EmaraTax account (companies under one Emirates ID count as one account). Plan & usage and the Connect with EmaraTax page show the accounts allowed, the companies connected and what is left. When no account is left, Connect another company is unavailable until you request additional EmaraTax accounts.

What does my plan include?

Every plan gives you the whole service: PINT-AE validation, delivery over Peppol, tax data reporting to the FTA, the console, the API and webhooks. Plans differ in their limits: how many business documents (invoices and credit notes) you can send per month, and how many users, Peppol participants, API keys and webhooks your account may have. A limit shown as unlimited has no cap.

The Plan page in the console names your plan and lists the limits that apply to your account. AZDAN can raise a single limit for your account without changing the plan; the page always shows the limits in force.

Where do I see what I have used this month?

On the Plan page. It shows, for the current calendar month, the documents sent against the monthly allowance, and the users, participants, API keys and webhooks in use against their limits. The monthly count starts again on the first day of each month.

What happens when I reach a limit?

The action that would go past the limit is refused with a message that names the limit, and nothing else changes: documents already sent, received documents and your data are not affected, and receiving e-invoices never stops. Sending resumes when the month turns, when a user, key or webhook is removed, or when the plan is changed.

What does the Current Plan badge in the top bar show?

The badge next to your account name shows your plan and, when your plan includes a document allowance, the documents used out of the allowance for the period. It turns amber at 80% and red at 95%, when the allowance is used up, or when the subscription ends within 30 days. Click it to open the subscription panel: status, documents received and sent, what remains, the end or renewal date, billing and any warnings. Plan & usage shows the same figures.

Which documents count against my subscription?

Each invoice or credit note uses one credit, when it is successfully sent (delivered to the receiver) or received through the Peppol network. Drafts, failed submissions, retries of the same document, test documents, Message Level Status and Tax Data Documents never do. Every EmaraTax account you pay for includes 1,200 credits a year; the credits of all your companies are pooled, and unused credits roll over into your next subscription year. The Free plan includes 120 documents a year at no charge, renewed every year.

How do I change my plan?

Plans are changed by AZDAN. Contact your account manager or write to [email protected] with the plan you want or the limit you need raised; the change applies to your account at once and the Plan page shows it.

Form fields in this section (4)

What do you need? Required

The change you are asking AZDAN for: an upgrade to a paid subscription, a different plan size (or the Free plan), additional EmaraTax accounts so more companies can be connected, or a larger document package. Nothing changes until AZDAN approves the request.

One of the four choices. One request can be open at a time; AZDAN answers it before a new one can be made.

EmaraTax accounts Required in some cases

How many EmaraTax accounts the subscription should have (an upgrade or plan change), or how many to add (additional accounts). Each account allows one company to be connected and includes 1,200 document credits a year; companies under one Emirates ID count as one account.

A whole number from 1 to 1,000. Required for a paid subscription; for additional accounts, at least one more.

Example 2

Document package Optional

An additional yearly allowance of documents on top of the credits the accounts include, chosen from the price list (600 to 238,800 documents a year). Unused credits roll over at renewal.

Optional for an upgrade or plan change; required when you ask for a larger package. Only packages of the price list; above the largest, AZDAN quotes separately.

Example 600 additional documents a year

Comment Optional

Anything AZDAN should know: when the change is needed, which companies are joining, a purchase order reference. It is read by the administrator who handles the request.

Optional, up to 1,000 characters.

Example A new subsidiary joins in November

API keys and webhooks

Connecting your own systems to AZDAN.

How do API keys work?

An API key lets your own system call the AZDAN API as your account. Give it a label (1 to 80 characters) that says where it is used. The key is shown once, when it is created; store it securely. Revoking a key is a critical action confirmed with your authenticator code. The number of keys is limited by your plan.

Which endpoint URL is accepted?

An HTTPS address of up to 2048 characters, reachable from the internet, without a username or password in it. Names that resolve to a private, local or link-local address are refused, as are ports outside 1 to 65535. AZDAN signs every delivery; after rotating the secret, both the new and the previous secret sign requests for 24 hours.

Which events can a webhook receive, and what payload?

Tick the events you want (document delivered, validated or rejected, every status change, the receiver's MLS verdict, the FTA's answer to a Tax Data Document and more) or all of them. New webhooks send the version 2 payload: one JSON with the document number, kind, amounts, counterparty, company, Peppol identifiers, the outcome and download links. Events that cannot be delivered after every retry appear as dead letters and can be requeued.

Form fields in this section (6)

Label Required

A name that tells you where the key is used, for example the system or environment it belongs to. The key itself is shown once, when it is created.

Required, 1 to 80 characters.

Example ERP production

Name Optional

A name for this endpoint, shown in the webhooks list and the delivery history.

Optional, up to 80 characters.

Example ERP status sync

Endpoint URL Required

The address AZDAN sends events to.

Required. HTTPS only, up to 2048 characters, without a username or password in it; the host must be a public internet name. Private or local addresses are refused.

Example https://erp.yourcompany.ae/peppol-hook

Events Required

Which events this endpoint receives: document status changes, MLS outcomes, FTA reports and so on.

Tick at least one event, or all of them.

Company Optional

Limits the endpoint to the documents of one of your companies (subsidiaries).

Optional. Leave it empty for every company.

Payload version Optional

The shape of the JSON that is delivered. Version 2 is one JSON with the document number, kind, amounts, counterparty, company, Peppol identifiers, the outcome and download links.

1 or 2; new webhooks use version 2.

Example 2

Troubleshooting

What to check when a document is refused, stays in progress or does not arrive, and when to contact AZDAN.

My invoice was refused before it was sent. What now?

Every document is checked against the UAE PINT-AE rules before it leaves. A refusal lists each problem in plain words with the field it concerns: a missing TRN, a VAT category that does not match the rate, totals that do not add up, a date in the wrong format. Correct the document and send it again; nothing was delivered, so there is no duplicate to worry about.

The Invoices and credit notes section of this help explains the rules behind the most common messages.

A document has been “sending” for a long time. Is it lost?

No. A document is kept until it has been delivered and reported. Delivery over Peppol usually takes seconds; it can take longer when the receiving provider is slow or briefly unavailable, in which case delivery is retried automatically. The document's page in Transactions shows every step with its time.

Check the system status page first: an open incident there explains a general delay. If a document has shown no progress for more than an hour and there is no incident, contact AZDAN with the document number.

A supplier says they sent us an e-invoice, but it is not in Transactions?

  • Ask the supplier which Peppol address they sent to: it must be your company's address (0235: followed by your TIN). An address with another identifier reaches another participant.
  • Check that your Peppol address is live on the E-Invoicing page: an address on hold receives nothing until the FTA registry confirms it.
  • Inbound documents appear under the Inbound tab of Transactions, not among your sent invoices.
  • Ask the supplier for the delivery confirmation their provider gave them, and send it to AZDAN if the document still cannot be found.

I cannot sign in, or the code from my authenticator is refused. What do I check?

  • A wrong e-mail or password gives the same message for both; type them again or ask your administrator for a new temporary password.
  • An authenticator code is valid for a short time: enter the current one, and check that the phone's clock is set automatically.
  • Lost the authenticator? Use a recovery code, or ask your administrator to reset multi-factor authentication for your account.
  • After several wrong attempts the account waits a few minutes before trying again.

The Your account section says more about activation, passwords and multi-factor authentication.

Is the problem on my side or at AZDAN?

Open the public system status page. It is run by an independent monitor and shows, minute by minute, whether the consoles, the APIs, the Peppol connection, the SMP, the FTA integration and the database are working, with the incidents AZDAN has posted. A green page and no incident mean the service is up: check the document, the address or the account instead.

How do I contact AZDAN support, and what should I include?

Write to [email protected] from the e-mail address of your AZDAN account. Include your company name, the document number or Peppol address concerned, what you did, what you expected and what happened, and the time. For a problem with the FTA linkage, add the TIN. Never send passwords, authenticator codes or API keys: AZDAN never asks for them.
