UAE e-invoicing

How UAE e-invoicing works — and where AZDAN fits.

The UAE e-invoicing system follows a five-corner exchange model. E-invoices travel between Accredited Service Providers over the Peppol network in the PINT-AE format, while their tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority. AZDAN is the Accredited Service Provider that does this for you.

FAQ

UAE e-invoicing, answered.

What is UAE e-invoicing?
UAE e-invoicing replaces paper and PDF invoices with structured electronic invoices in the PINT-AE format. They are exchanged between Accredited Service Providers over the Peppol network, and their tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). The UAE Ministry of Finance is introducing it in phases.
What is an Accredited Service Provider (ASP)?
Businesses connect to UAE e-invoicing through an Accredited Service Provider, which validates, exchanges and reports their e-invoices. AZDAN is an E-Invoicing Accredited Service Provider (ASP) in the UAE, accredited by the Ministry of Finance under accreditation no. 147900 (valid 1 October 2026 to 1 October 2028) — you can check the Ministry of Finance register.
Is AZDAN a Peppol Certified Service Provider?
Yes. AZDAN is listed by OpenPeppol as a Peppol Certified Service Provider — see the list of certified providers.
What is PINT-AE?
PINT-AE is the UAE specialisation of the Peppol International (PINT) invoice and credit note format. AZDAN checks every document against the PINT-AE rules before sending it, and explains any problem in plain language.
How is tax data reported to the FTA?
As your Accredited Service Provider, AZDAN reports the tax data of each e-invoice to the Federal Tax Authority as part of the exchange, and shows the reporting status next to the invoice. Onboarding includes linking your organisation's FTA details through EmaraTax.
Do we need to replace our ERP?
No. AZDAN is ERP-independent: connect any ERP, accounting or billing system through the REST API, use a ready connector where one exists, or create and upload invoices in the Tenant Console. See ERP integrations.
How does AZDAN protect our data?
AZDAN is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for information security and ISO 22301:2019 for business continuity by URS, a UKAS-accredited certification body. The platform uses encryption in transit, mandatory multi-factor authentication, role-based access, step-up verification for critical actions and detailed audit logs.
